James M. "Mike" Dolan

James M. “Mike” Dolan, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026. He was born December 23, 1945 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the son of John and Elizabeth (Sanders) Welch.

Mike graduated from Gardner High School and attended Emporia State University. He served in the US Army and Kansas National Guard as a Combat Medic for over 20 years, obtaining the rank of Staff Sgt. before retiring.

Mike married Joan C. Farrell on March 11, 1972 in Hill City, Kansas. They were married for 54 years. She survives. Other survivors include children, Nicole Dolan Parks of Topeka, Amy Esquibel of Topeka, Jason Dolan of Lenexa, eight grandchildren, Ethan Parks, Caleb Parks, Abigail Parks, Madelyn Esquibel, Jack Esquibel, Max Esquibel, Annie Dolan, Molly Dolan, his siblings, Margaret McQuary, Maureen Scorpio, Joe Dolan, Sharon Smith, Patty Massie, and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Welch and Tommy Dolan.

A Celebration of Mike's Life will be announced as soon as possible. Inurnment will take place in Hill City Cemetery at a later date.
