James D. "Iszac" Haynes

James D. "Iszac" Haynes, 71, of Council Grove, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at a Topeka care facility. He was born on July 18, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of John N. and Sara E. (Askew) Haynes.

Iszac was an Army Veteran. He was a staunch environmentalist and friend to many. As an artist, he enjoyed creating pottery and paintings, along with acting. He enjoyed 29 years of recovery from alcoholism, from 1997 until his death.Iszac married Lois L. Weiss in 1983, divorcing in 1993.Iszac is survived by his daughter, Sarah J. Haynes of Junction City, Oregon. 

A private Celebration of Iszac's Life, and inurnment, will take place at a later date.
