James "Jim" R. Dyer

James “Jim” R. Dyer, 89, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024.
He was born September 3, 1934, in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, the son of Robert and Ruth (Collins) Dyer.
Following graduation, he joined the United States Army and later was a part of the Army Reserves.
James married Elizabeth Ann Dyer in November of 1959 in Wichita, KS.
Jim worked for the Rock Island Railroad until his retirement.
He leaves behind two daughters, Lisa (Norman) Scheele and Linda (Jim) McDonald; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy Prewitt. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; his parents; Bob Dyer, Don Dyer, Jerry Dyer and Ila "Ruthie" Spears.
Private services will be held at a later date. In his honor, memorial contributions may be made to the Colmery-O'Neil Veterans Med. Center, 2200 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66622.
