Janice Lee Manker, 66, of Auburn, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023.

She was born August 16, 1957, in Saitama Ken, Japan, the daughter of Joseph and Melinda (Bekker) Stone. She graduated from Joplin (MO) High School and received certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Janice was employed by multiple nursing homes for several years, becoming disabled in 1996.

Janice married James Robert Manker on March 26, 1982 at Monticello United Methodist Church in Johnson County, Kansas. He survives, along with her daughters Jennifer Lynn Stauffer of Auburn and Jacqulyne Jones (fiancé Jeff Everett) of Topeka; grandchildren Holly Stauffer, Deacon Stauffer, Jaxon Manker and Lance Manker and Mason Everett; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and her service dog Quigley. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister.

Janice loved riding and showing horses, sewing, and drawing. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her grandchildren.

A graveside ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2023 at Auburn Cemetery on SW Hodges Road in Auburn. Memorial contributions may be made to the NE Kansas Parkinson Association, PO Box 67342, Topeka, KS 66667-0342 or Cares Inc, 1233 90th Road, Concordia, KS 66901.
