Jay N. Christensen

Jay Christensen, Topeka, Kansas, passed away July 13, 2026. He was 86 years old.

Jay was born on November 24, 1939, in Milford, Kansas, the son of Fred and Myrtle (Johnston) Christensen. He graduated from Milford High School in May 1957. He worked full time for the Kansas Army National Guard in Topeka from October 3, 1960, to March 31, 1995; and part time from April 1, 1995 to November 30, 1999. He retired on November 30, 1999, with the rank of CW4 Warrant Officer.

He married Laura Loree George on August 29, 1969, in Topeka, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include son Lyle Christensen, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to Town and Country Christian Church or the Kansas National Guard Museum.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:30 A.M., at Town and Country Christian Church, 4925 SW 29th Street, Topeka, Kansas, 66614. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Cremation is planned after the service, with a private inurnment at a later date.
