Jeffrey Willis Walker

July 1, 1958 — May 21, 2024

Jeffrey Willis Walker, affectionately known as "Birddog" or "Birdie," aged 65 of Wamego, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Heritage Gardens, Oskaloosa, KS.

Born on July 1, 1958, Birddog was the beloved middle son of George Wayne Walker and Helen M. Walker of Wamego, who preceded him in death. Birddog was known for his outgoing nature, spontaneity, and his ability to befriend many. He possessed a deep caring spirit, a generous heart, and was both kind and humorous.

Birddog marched to the beat of his own drum, finding joy in hunting, fishing, and all outdoor adventures. He enjoyed the company of his friends and the stray dogs he often adopted. Birddog had a passion for dancing, contagious laughter, and a reputation as quite the ladies' man, always in good jest.

Birddog is survived by many who cherished him deeply, including his partner and best friend, Susie Bruns, her daughter Lorie Redmond, as well as his dearest friends Lonnie Range, Frederick (Tommy) Carroll, Mary Lou Rutherford, Mike Wheeler, and numerous others.

A celebration of Birddog's life is planned for his birthday week in July. Memorial contributions may be made to Arab Shriners, 1305 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66612, for the benefit of the needs of children assisted through the Shriners Hospital of St. Louis.

Birddog will be dearly missed and remembered fondly by all those whose lives he touched with his warm, vibrant spirit.
