Joan Christine Bervert

Joan Christine Bervert, 81, of Topeka, passed away at home with her family Saturday, November 15, 2025.

She was born July 20, 1944, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Eunice (Ardrey) Dotson.

Joan married Andrew Paul Bervert in Topeka. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Christina Lynn Peavler; and her beloved Blazer.

She is survived by daughter, Theresa Hight (Scott Carson); son, Mark (Shelly) Hight; grandchildren, Shane (Becky) Kuney, Dustin Kuney, Chad (Bridgette) Hight, Marc (Breanna) Hight, James David (Savanna) Hight, Danielle Joann (Caleb) Ralph, Cody Hight and also, Hailey White, Aly Ford, and Jesse Ford;19 great grandchildren; and her dog, Suzie.

Joan enjoyed above all else, her family. She liked to garden, crochet, boating, painting and arts, and listening to audio books. She had a true heart for others and dedicated her life to her children and her grandchildren.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2025 at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS 66610. Interment will follow at Topeka Cemetery. Family will have a private visitation prior to the services Saturday.
