JoAnn "Joey" Jernigan, 67, of Meriden, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at The House at Midland Care.
She was born December 22, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Mission Valley High School in 1973.
Joey worked in Real Estate for 35 years before retiring in 2021.
Survivors include her life partner, Everett Glenn of Meriden; children, Miya (Darrin) Godfrey of Topeka, Cody (Christine) Carrier of Auburn and Jodi (Evan) Hearn of El Dorado; grandchildren, Kolby Godfrey, Karlee Godfrey, Jayden Carrier, Carson Carrier, Colt Hearn, Jace Hearn and Jaxson Carrier; brother, Eugene "Gene" (Judy) Jernigan of Carbondale and sister, Jeni Bahnmaier of Osage City.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Jernigan; grandparents, Clyde and Ella Lee Jernigan and a brother-in-law, Bo Bahnmaier.
Joey enjoyed horses, fishing, dancing to country music and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Honoring Joey's request cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, KS 66610. The family will greet friends starting at 10:00 am.
