Jonel Bingham

Jonel “Jonely” Bingham, 69, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 5, 1957, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of John Thomas and Frances Vernelle (Field) Pratt. She was a 1975 graduate of Wichita North High School, Wichita, Kansas.

Jonel was employed by Kobico in Topeka for many years and later worked for Wal-Mart in Topeka until becoming disabled.

Jonel married James R. Bingham on July 12, 1997 in Topeka. He survives in Topeka. Other survivors include her daughter, Sherry of Wichita; her son, Cory Snell of Wichita; two step-sons, Jason Bingham of Topeka and Clifford (Daria) Konopka of Niota, TN; several grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her brother, Kent (Pam) Pratt of Joplin, MO; and her sister, Pam Schroeder of Clearwater, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Tom Wilkinson.

Jonel loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed the outdoors, yard work, her flowers, woodworking, fishing, coloring and sewing. 

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please check back for more information.
