Jonel Bingham

Jonel “Jonely” Bingham, 69, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 5, 1957, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of John Thomas and Frances Vernelle (Field) Pratt. She was a 1975 graduate of Wichita North High School, Wichita, Kansas.

Jonel was employed by Kobico in Topeka for many years and later worked for Wal-Mart in Topeka until becoming disabled.

Jonel married James R. Bingham on July 12, 1997 in Topeka. He survives in Topeka. Other survivors include her daughter, Sherry of Wichita; her son, Cory Snell of Wichita; her bonus daughter Michelle (Kevin) of Topeka, KS; two step-sons, Jason Bingham of Topeka and Clifford (Daria) Konopka of Niota, TN; several grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her brother, Kent (Pam) Pratt of Joplin, MO; and her sister, Pam Schroeder of Clearwater, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Tom Wilkinson.

Jonel loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed the outdoors, yard work, her flowers, woodworking, fishing, coloring, sewing, playing cards and Farkle.

A Celebration of Jonel's Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2026 at Shawnee Lake Shelter House No. 6, 3521 SE East Edge Rd., (66605). Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
