Joyce L Devader

Joyce LaVon Devader, 86, of Topeka, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025.

She was born September 23, 1939, in Wamego, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Mabel (Breitchwerdt) Feyh. Joyce graduated from Alma High School in 1957.

Joyce married Delbert L. Bahner in 1957. Together they had three children, Tamela, Del Jr, and Jere. They later divorced.

Joyce married Leonard Devader on March 11, 1977 in Topeka. They both enjoyed and loved their family. Especially their grandchildren and great grandchildren. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Joyce is survived by daughter, Tamela (Keith) Karlan of Topeka; sons, Del (Denise) Bahner of Scranton and Jere (Leslie) Bahner of Lake Lotawana, MO; stepchildren, Cindy (Greg) Sleeper of Topeka, Curt Devader of Alabama, and Diana (David) Murray of Show Lo, AZ; siblings, Rudy (Carol) Feyh of Alma, Francis (Margaret) Feyh of Wamego, Janice (Chuck) Bonini of Ponce Inlet, FL, and Ron (Phyllis) Feyh of Battlefield, MO; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

Joyce enjoyed cooking and was very crafty with flower arrangements, sewing, crocheting, and quilting.

A memorial gathering will be held at 12:00 p.m. on November 28, 2025 at Alma Community Center. Final resting place will be at Peace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Alma, Kansas.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Jackson Collins Medical Fund . Jackson Collins is one of Joyce's many loved great-grandchildren.
