Joyce Elaine Roberson, 75, of Valley Falls, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023.
She was born June 10, 1948, in Fairland, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Franklin and Norma (Wyrick) Robitaille. She graduated from Wyandotte High School and attended NEO A & M.
Joyce was formerly employed by the Valley Falls Vindicator.
Joyce married John G. Roberson on April 13, 1968 in Miami, Oklahoma. He survives, along with her sisters Sheila Hull and Teresa Finley of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and her brother Dean Cunningham of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews, including Kelly Carpenter (Dr. Kevin Campbell) of Miami, Oklahoma and Darren Foster of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; and her cousin Diane Headlee of Miami, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her sister Beverly Foster and brother-in-law George Foster.
Joyce enjoyed feeding animals and pets – especially dogs – and going to and running garage sales with her sisters and friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Jefferson County hospice for their assistance and kindness.
Joyce was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Wyandotte Cemetery in Oklahoma at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society, 15295 KS-4, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
