Judy A. Todd, 83, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
She was born December 29, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of William Jacob and Neva Jane (Hermann) Kull.
On March 29, 1959 she married Chester R. Todd at the Dover Federated Church. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2014.
Left to carry on Judy's legacy: her daughter, Doris J. (Mark) Nichols; two grandchildren, William Charles Buchan and Ann May (Scott) Williams; her great-granddaughter, Athena May Williams; and Dennie Buchan (William and Ann's father), all of Topeka. When Doris married Mark, Judy gained a grandson, Scott (Dany) Nichols; a granddaughter, Sarah (George) Paz; and two great-granddaughters, Angelina and Francesca. Judy is also survived by Chester's siblings, Margaret Ann Briant, Floyd Todd and Philip Todd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was very proud to be a Todd family "out-law".
Judy was a 1957 graduate of Dover High School and attended Clark's School of Business in Topeka. After business school, Judy was employed with the EBA Insurance company before joining the USD 330 School District as a bus driver for nineteen years. Most would remember her whistle if you rode her bus. She had also served as a Dover 4-H Leader.
She was a life-time member of the Dover Federated Church.
Judy's love and passion was her family. She was an avid card player. She enjoyed a fierce game of Pitch with her extended family, Nello with Ann May as her partner and losing to William and Scott playing Qwirkle. She even got to teach Athena the card game Slapjack.
Judy and Chester enjoyed traveling extensively in their RV throughout the country and took several trips overseas, particularly to Switzerland and Germany. One special trip included their grandson, William. She also loved spending time in her comfortable chair snuggling her cat, Midnight while watching sports especially the Kansas State Wildcats.
