Kay L. Rowe

Kay Lucile Rowe, 81, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025.

She was born February 10, 1944, in Horton, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Wilda (Law) Lanter. She was a 1962 graduate of Everest High School and received a bachelor’s of liberal arts degree from Baker University in 1966. She later received a master’s degree of arts from Kansas State University.

Kay was taught in Topeka Public Schools, and retired at Highland Park High School after 22 years of service.

She was a member of Christian Lord Ministry in Topeka.

Kay married Duane Gale Rowe on August 5, 1966 in Everest, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2014.

Survivors include her nephews, Aaron Lanter and Andrew Lanter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Keith Lanter.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. No services are scheduled. Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southeast Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
