Rossville Ks

Kenneth Eugene Anspaugh, affectionately known as Ken, was born on August 8, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas. He peacefully passed away on June 4, 2025, in Carbondale, Kansas, surrounded by his loving family. Ken leaves behind a legacy of hard work, community service, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Ken's dedication to excellence carried over into his later years, as he transitioned into construction work with Renner Construction. His meticulous attention to detail was evident in every project he undertook, including his involvement in the building of the Dove South West Chapel. Ken's commitment to quality made him a respected supervisor and a skilled body worker.

Raised in the vibrant atmosphere of farming and 4-H activities after graduating from Meriden High School in 1964, Ken developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He often sought out the sunshine, which he affectionately referred to as "sun bubbles." Fishing and spending time outdoors brought him immense joy.

Ken was a loving and generous individual who always looked out for others in their time of need. His playful spirit and caring nature endeared him to those around him. He cherished spending quality time with his grandchildren, helping to raise and teach them valuable life lessons. His family remembers him as the rock of their household, an ornery yet always smiling presence whose love knew no bounds.

His dedication to community service was reflected in his active involvement with several organizations. Ken served as a member of Masonic Lodge #50 for an impressive 60 years and was part of the Arab Shrine Temple of Topeka for over 20 years. Additionally, he contributed to the Order of Eastern Star Loyal Chapter #176 and the Lions Clubs of both Carbondale and Rossville, Kansas. At the foundation of his life was a profound faith in Jesus Christ, which he held dear and shared with gratefulness.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Maudie (Altis) Anspaugh, whom he married in 2017; his son, Kenny Ray Anspaugh; his daughter, Yvette Anspaugh; his grandchildren, Alysia (Jarod) Cook, Ashley (Timm) Hovestadt, Andrew Anspaugh, and Wyatt Rodger and Rylan Ansbaugh; his sister, Sharon Wellman; his sisters, Catherine (Darold) Schnacker and Peggy (Gary) Cain; his brother, Phillip Anspaugh; and 24 great-grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Elizabeth Anspaugh; his former wives, Vicki Anspaugh and Ester Anspaugh; his brothers, Roger, Donald, and Glenn Anspaugh; and his grandson, Matthew Anspaugh.
