Larry J. Matney

Larry J. Matney, 79, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. He was born August 2, 1945 in Topeka, the son of Robert E. and Marjorie J. (Hix) Cronkhite.

Larry graduated from Topeka West High School and earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas. He was employed by Southwest Bowl for many years.

Larry enjoyed bowling, the Kansas City Chiefs, and all KU Sports.

Survivors include his siblings, Patti S. Albin of Topeka, Mary Lou (Neil) Harding of Mayetta, Robert W. (Karen) Cronkhite of Topeka, his niece, Shelly and his nephew, Michael.

A private Celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
