Laura M. Haefke, 90, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She was born on August 27, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Reverend Richard H. and Ruth I. (Brunkhorst) Raedeke.

Laura graduated from Alma High School and earned an Associate Degree in Business Degree from St. John’s College in Winfield, Kansas. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant by the State of Kansas for eight years before retiring in 1998. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church for over 20 years where she sang in the choir, a member of the Topeka Civic Newcomers Club, and the Topeka Ladies Day Out Group.

Her faith in God kept her going throughout her life. She will be remembered for her beautiful alto voice and her accomplishments playing the church organ in her early years.

Laura married John Haefke. They later divorced.

Survivors include three children, Lesa Morby, David Haefke and Diane Haller, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, her brother, Arlin Raedeke, and two sisters, Helen Naber and Ruth Sarna.

Laura was preceded in death by one son, Mark Haefke and her brother, Richard Raedeke.

A Celebration of Laura's Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the First Lutheran Church,1234 SW Fairlawn Rd. Topeka, KS, 66604. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the First Lutheran Church, 1234 SW Fairlawn Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66604 or to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.

Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. is assisting the family the family with service arrangements.
