Lee R. "Bud" Ferrebee, 89, of Tecumseh, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026. He was born September 9, 1936 in Elana, West Virginia, the son of Aubrey C. and Metta "Marie" (McClain) Ferrebee.
Lee resided in Clay County, West Virginia and graduated from Clay County High School in 1955. He served in the US Air Force for over 30 years before retiring in 1985 at the rank of Chief Master Sgt. Lee was awarded the Bronze Star, four Meritorious Service Medals, and two Air Force Commendation Medals along with several other awards and decorations. Lee also served overseas tours on Okinawa, Vietnam and Guam.
Lee’s faith was Southern Baptist.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Marie, his sisters, Annie, Carolyn, and Hattie and his brothers, Paul, Ray, John, Larry and Lawrence.
Survivors include children, Wanda McLain of Alma, Jeanette "Sami" (James) Kennedy of Tecumseh, two granddaughters, Tealee and Michelle and one great-granddaughter, Evelyn.
A private Celebration of Lee' s Life and inurnment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Clay County, West Virginia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Wallback Methodist Church, PO Box 62, Wallback, West Virginia 25285 or to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, PO Box 88, Wallback, West Virginia 25285.
