Linda Gail Ames, beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, in her hometown of Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on December 19, 1947, in Topeka, Linda touched the lives of many with her warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones.
Having spent over 20 years cleaning homes, Linda built enduring relationships with many of her clients, becoming a valued member of their lives. Her professional endeavors were complemented by her passionate engagement with her family. Linda was particularly known for her love of Christmas, where she excelled at bringing everyone together to celebrate and create lasting memories. Her joyous spirit flourished during Halloween as well, where she delighted in dressing up and going out with her children.
Among her many interests, she loved going to garage sales with her sister, as well as discussing soap operas, a favorite topic of conversation shared with her sisters. They also got together once a year to have their own garage sale as well. Linda’s personality shone brightly in her caring nature; she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, testament to her nurturing spirit.
Linda's greatest pride came from spending time with her grandchildren, Brandi, Kody, and Brianna Wohletz. Her special great grand son Lee Roy Wohletz. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she formed countless beautiful memories with them, instilling values of love and togetherness.
Linda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Douglas Ames; her daughter, Kimberly Wohletz; and her son, Chad Ames. Nieces Brenda Peterson and Lorina Beltz. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren and great grandson, who brought her immeasurable joy and fulfillment.
Linda also leaves behind the loving memory of her parents, George and Virginia Roth; her brothers, Vernon, Bobby, and Robert Roth; and her sisters, Verna Jean, Joyce, Grace, and Joan Roth, all of whom preceded her in death.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. Linda Gail Ames may have departed from this world, but her spirit will continue to shine through the generations she left behind.
