Lizzie Mae "G Ma" Banks, 62, of Wichita, formerly of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at a Wichita hospital. She was born August 21, 1960 in Topeka, the daughter of Billy Joe and Doris Jean (Henderson) Henderson.
Lizzie graduated from Topeka High School in 1978 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Butler University and Friends University. She was employed by ADT Home Security Systems for over ten years. She was a member of the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Topeka and Dell Rose United Methodist Church in Wichita.
Survivors include her four children, Melody L. Banks of Wichita, Charlena R. Banks of Wichita, Equashai S. Brown of Oklahoma, Deantre J. Brown of Wichita, eight grandchildren, Carlos (Brisa), Chavez, Chavasia, Anthony, Deantre, Jr., Azair, De'Trelan, Ma'Vier, her mother, Doris Jean Henderson of Topeka and her siblings, Ruby Walker of Texas, Delores Henderson of Topeka, Jerry Henderson of Topeka and her special sister's, Lillian Henderson Hopper of Topeka and Jackie Kayhill of Topeka, special nephew/son, David Holmes of Topeka, god-daughter, Loyalty Emma Lee of Topeka and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Lizzie was preceded in death by her father and her siblings, Billy Joe Henderson, Jr., Larry Henderson and Emma Jean Henderson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
