Lois Mildred Ware, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025. She was born July 1, 1944 in Garnett, Kansas, the second daughter of Richard and Vera (Stevenson) Ware.

Lois lived with her family on a farm in Lane, Kansas and attended Lane Grade School. The family then moved to a farm in Wellsville, Kansas, where she attended Briles School, a one room country school. When Briles School closed, Lois finished her eighth grade at Wellsville Elementary and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1962.

Lois enjoyed traveling to places such as Maui, Hawaii, St. Thomas, San Juan Puerto Rico, Disneyland and Disney World. Lois collected Marie Osmond dolls, and Fenton glassware. From the life on the farm, she developed a love for cats. Lois always shared her home with one or two spoiled cats.

Lois attended Clark's School of Business in Topeka and became a lifelong member of the Topeka community. She was an accountant at the State Library for the State of Kansas in Topeka from 1987 - 2006. She was also a self-employed bookkeeper. She was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Julia Ann Bevan, and her brother-in-law, Tommy Bevan.

Survivors include her niece, Sarah Morgan, her nephew, David Bevan, and several cousins.

A Celebration of Lois's Life will be announced as soon as possible. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66605.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
