Luanne Moore, 69, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at a Topeka hospital. She was born April 25, 1956 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of George Fred and Mary Virginia (James) Moore, Jr. She was raised as a bonus child by her foster-parents, Larry and Sally Vasilevech.
Luanne attended Rockhill Elementary, State Street Junior High, Alliance High School and graduated from Marlington High School in Ohio before attending Allen County Junior College and Washburn University. She was an Army Veteran, serving in Germany and later joined the Navy Reserve. She had resided in Topeka since 1986. Luanne was employed by Mount Hope Cemetery and later Frito-Lay for over 20 years before retiring. She was a friend of Bill W.
Surviving is her spouse, Cindy S. Dennison of Topeka, bonus daughter, Michelle Broxterman, her brother, James “Jimmy” (Sandy) Moore of Nashville, Tennessee, her foster-brother Lawrence “Chip” Vasilevech of Alabama, and her foster-sister, Julie Stanish of Pennsylvania.
Luanne was preceded in death by her siblings, Patsy and Fred.
A Celebration of Luanne's Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Grace United Methodist Church, 2627 SW Western Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66611. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
