Lucinda Sue Ostler

Lucinda Sue Ostler, age 71, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026.

Lucinda was born on November 23rd, 1954 in Topeka, Kansas to Ralph and Madeline Cowell. She was lovingly raised with her other four siblings in Topeka. After marrying husband James (Jim) Ostler, she relocated to Texas, before moving back to Topeka in 2005 after James' passing.

Lucinda dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker. She brought warmth and creativity into her home and the lives of those around her. A woman of many talents, Lucinda found great joy in the arts. She loved playing the guitar and singing, filling her home with music, and she spent countless hours creating beautiful paintings and handmade dolls—treasures that her family will cherish forever.

Lucinda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Ostler; her daughter, Rachel Trimble; her parents, Ralph and Madeline Cowell; and her brothers and sisters, Michael Cowell, Jennifer Cowell, Steve Cowell, and Deborah Cowell.

She is survived by her two devoted sons, Brian Ostler and Jonathan Ostler; her five cherished grandchildren, Kylee Smith, Haylee Cloninger, Rosalie Trimble, Derek Stanway, and Roman Steinkruger; and nieces and nephews, Sarah Cowell, Charles Cowell, Jesse Cowell, and Tiffany Rangier; all of whom brought immense light and joy to her life. She also leaves behind a community of extended family and friends who will miss her deeply.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, Kansas 66610.

 A private family graveside service will be performed at a later date.
