Lynne Dillon, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at a Topeka hospital. She was born February 23, 1944 in Niskayuna, New York, the daughter of Joseph and Jeanette (Howell) Halstead.
Lynne graduated from Guilderland High School in New York and earned a Master's Degree in Special Education from Washburn University in Topeka. She had resided in Topeka since 1978. Lynne was employed by USD 501 and taught Special Education at Highland Park Central Elementary School for many years before retiring. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral.
Survivors include three children, Matthew (Sarah) Dillon of Shawnee, Kansas, Jonathan (Christina) Dillon of Paola, Kansas, Scott (Tamara) Dillon of St. Charles, Illinois, four grandchildren, Jacob, Joselyn, Jackson and Genevieve.
Lynne was preceded in death by her brother, Alan Halstead.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will take place in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany, New York at a later date.
