Marian E. Ercse

Marian E. Ercse, 77, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born April 9, 1948 in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Glenn Eldon and Mildred Maxine (Schnacker) Brown.

Marian resided in the Auburn and Topeka communities for most of her life but had a special fondness for the state of Texas where she spent a lot of time with her husband, Paul. She graduated from Auburn Rural High School. Marian was employed by the State of Kansas in the Bureau of Disease Control and as a Paraprofessional for USD 501. She enjoyed country music, stock car racing, and thrifting and shopping.

Marian married Paul R. “Fuzzy” Ercse. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Jim Brown and Larry Brown.

Survivors include one son, Kenny A. (Juli) Ercse of Topeka, five grandchildren, Kay, Travis, Izabelle, Colt and Ben, two great-grandchildren, Niamh and Sterling, her brother, Roy (Patsy) Brown of North Carolina, her sister-in-law’s, Eda Brown and Joann Brown, and nieces and nephews.

A private Celebration of Marian’s Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
