Martha L Stenzel

Martha Louise Stenzel, Topeka, Kansas, passed away in her sleep on May 11, 2026, at Rolling Hills Assisted Living. She was 97 years old.

Martha was born on January 24, 1929, in Little Prairie Township, Missouri, the daughter of Murray J. and Suzie Louise (Cooley) Zarecor.

She married Richard L Stenzel on November 24, 1975. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2017.

She was also preceded in death by sons, Harold (Hal) M Nance and Robert L Nance.

Survivors include daughter Rebecca Molloy and son Murray Nance, 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren

Martha became a member of the Methodist Church at age nine and enjoyed serving God, playing piano and singing in the choir.

She and her husband retired to his hometown of Topeka where she was a member of Brookwood Covenant Church.

Cremation is planned, with private memorial at a later date, with internment at Elmdale Cemetery, Chase County KS.
