Matthew Connor Iles

Matthew Connor Iles, 29, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at his home. He was born May 20, 1996, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Terry A. Iles and Julie L. (Finney) Johnson.

Matt attended Washburn Rural High School graduating in 2014. He attended Kansas State University earning his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 2020 and attended the University of Arizona Global Campus where he received his Master of Business Administration in 2021. Matt worked for Honeywell FM&T as a Chemical Engineer III from 2022 to present. Prior to moving to Overland Park, Matt worked for Ash Grove Cement Company in Midlothian, Texas as a Process Engineer. Matt was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed fishing and duck hunting with his wife, friends and his dog, Ellie. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Matt received six Master Angler certificates. Matt loved sharing his love of the outdoors through his MAD Outdoors social media channels.

Matt married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Aubrey Nicole Blackburn on August 29, 2020, in Randolph, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his mother Julie L. Johnson of Topeka, his father, Terry A. Iles and step-mother Suzen of Topeka, his brother, Nathan Iles of Topeka, his sister, Sarah Iles of Overland Park, his father and mother-in-law, Keith and Emy Blackburn of Topeka, his brother and sister-in-law, Tyler and Lexis Blackburn of Bixby, Oklahoma, two nephews, Brayden Blackburn and Thomas Blackburn and several aunts, uncles and cousins that were all near and dear to Matt.

Matt was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert D. Johnson.

A Celebration of Matt’s Life will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at Grace Point Church, 5400 SW Huntoon St.,Topeka, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Grace Point Church or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116.

Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd Topeka, Kansas 66610 is assisting the family with service arrangements.
