Melvin L. Zeller 88 Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
Melvin was born May 6, 1934 in Keats, Kansas. The son of Kenneth and Lois (Howe) Zeller. He graduated from Onaga High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot during the Korean War.
He was employed by Santa Fe Railroad as an accountant, retired in 1989. He also farmed most of his life.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 400, Topeka.
Melvin married Wanda Lee Huff (deceased), Gail Zeller (deceased). Survivors include son, Steven (Carolyn) Zeller, Topeka; daughter, Karen (Steve) Crump, Abilene; Colleen (Mark) Rine, Topeka; John David Hermesmann, Jefferson Hill, PA; grandchildren, Stacy, Abilene; David, Abilene; Lisa, Salina; Melanie, Topeka; Andrew, Olathe; Savanna, Overland Park; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lois Zeller; brother, Glen Zeller; sister, Velma Sanders.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Melvin's life will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and a reception will follow the service.
