Michael "Mike" Herbert Callison, 65, of Kansas City, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026.
Mike was born December 18, 1960, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He received his degrees from Washburn University.
Mike was employed by various banks in the Topeka area, and he had been a partner with SS&C. Mike always dreamed of owning his own restaurant, so he opened the Flint Hills Saloon and Eatery. Business was truly his passion.
Mike was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, the 20-30 Club, and a past member of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was also the past president of the Topeka Country Club, and also participated in Junior Achievement of Topeka.
Mike is survived by a loving family.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved anything from hunting, fishing, and even collecting rocks. He was passionate about sports, especially the KU Jayhawks and Iowa Hawkeyes. He also could be found cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a past board member and longtime coach with the Topeka Youth Basketball League. He loved good food, and made many great meals to share with family and friends. Mike didn't know a stranger, and he could talk to anyone about anything.
