Michael Paul "Mike" Daugherty

Michael Paul "Mike" Daugherty, 56, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026. He was born August 21, 1969 in Topeka, the son of Paul E. and Jodi E. (Nelson) Daugherty.

Mike attended Shawnee Heights High School. He was employed by the US Postal Service for 22 years and served as Manager for the Hicrest Station. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Mike married Marci L. Higgins on October 12, 1996 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2021. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Aaron Peet.

Survivors include children, Hannah Daugherty, Hayli Daugherty, Lacy and her husband, Andrew Weber, three grandchildren, Preston, Theodore, and Saylor, his brother, Thad and his wife, Kristina Daugherty, his nephew, Ronin, his niece, Lyla and his step-father, Jimmy Peet. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Audrey Gossard.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. followed by a Celebration of Mike’s Life beginning at 11:00 a.m. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
