Michael Lee "Mike" Hermanson

Michael L. "Mike" Hermanson, 58, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024. He was born May 13, 1966 in Topeka, the son of James E. and Wilma J. (Calderwood) Hermanson.

Mike was employed by Stormont-Vail Hospital and later Reser's Fine Foods. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Mike married Sophia Torrez on March 1, 1991 in Topeka. They later divorced but remained close friends.

Survivors include one son, Christopher “Chris” M. (Sage) Hermanson of Topeka, two granddaughters, Juliana and Olivia and his siblings, Linda Votaw of Topeka, Sandy (Mike) Garrett of Florida, James (Helen “Libby”) Hermanson, Jr of Topeka, Deborah (James) Heaney of Topeka and several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marvin Hermanson in 1965 and his nephew, Gregory Votaw.

A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Lake Shawnee Shelter House No. 6, 3521 SE East Edge Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66605. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
