Michael W. Richardson, 66, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
Michael was born September 5, 1957 in Topeka, the son of Edmond and Freda (Webb) Richardson. He graduated from Topeka West High School in 1976. He attended Vocational Technical school in Topeka.
He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation and then went on to manage various restaurants.
He enjoyed taking his 1965 Mustang to car shows and was a very active member in several Gunsmoke fan boards in which he would share his encyclopedia of knowledge regarding the show and cast members.
Michael married Joye Zeckser on July 31, 1982 in Alma. His wife of 41 years survives. Other survivors include son, Mike (Vanessa) Richardson; grandchildren, Cruz, Corbin and Liam; his mother, Freda Watts; and step-brother, Tim Watts. He was preceded in death by brothers, Edmond, Jr. and Dan; his father, Edmond, Sr; step-father, Bill Watts and step-mother, Sharon Richardson.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
