Morgan Breann Schmidtberger

Morgan Breann Schmidtberger, 34, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born March 19, 1991, in Overland Park, Kansas, the daughter of Mike and Brenda (Steinbring) Schmidtberger. She graduated from Gardner Edgerton High School in Gardner, Kansas. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Education from K-State University.

Morgan was employed with Topeka 501 School District for most of her teaching years.

Morgan is survived by her long-time significant other, August Bettencourt. She is also survived by her parents, grandmother, Rosalie Schmidtberger; aunts, Lori (Pat) Loney and Linda Steinbring; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Schmidtberger; and grandparents, Gail & Walter Steinbring.

Morgan enjoyed cross-stitching and off-roading trips with August. She appreciated all things Harry Potter, Lego, The Grinch, and Peanuts cartoon.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS 66610. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604. The family requests that you wear your brightest attire to match Morgan's spirit.
