Morton “David” Alfrey, 64, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025.
He was born April 10, 1961, in Hiawatha, Kansas, the son of John Thomas and Ethel Mae (Edie) Alfrey. He was a graduate of Highland High School, Highland, Kansas. He served in Kansas Army National Guard and later for the U.S. Marines until being honorably discharged.
Morton was an over the road truck driver for many years until retiring.
Survivors include his son; four daughters; four sisters, Shirley Walker of Horton, KS, Linda (Ralph) Bottom of Meriden, KS, Barbara Burroughs of Topeka and Debra Leach of Topeka; his brother John (Linda) Alfrey of Highland, KS and several nieces, nephews, cousins; and his best friend Bobo.
Morton loved his canine companion, Bobo and enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to music.
Honoring his request cremation is planned. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date. Please check back for more information. Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.
