Nancy Anne Bartee

Nancy Anne Bartee, 85, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

She was born June 8, 1940, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of Edwin and Frances (Atkeison) Roberts Jr. She graduated high school in Amarillo, TX and later obtained her Associates in Arts from Stephen’s College and her Bachelor of Music from Washburn University.

Nancy was employed with USD 501 Randolph Elementary as the music teacher for 10 years until retiring.

Mrs. Bartee was a member of the Countryside United Methodist Church, of Topeka where she was in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Music Study Club, Minerva.

Nancy married James B. Bartee on June 20, 1960. From this union they welcomed 2 daughters. They were married until his passing in 1996. Nancy later married William E McKusker. She was preceded in death by William, her parents and her brother, Edwin McKay Roberts III.

Survivors include daughters, Leslie Ritchlin and Barbara “Janie” Bartee, grandchildren, Lauren (Todd) Kendrick, Cameron Ritchlin, and Shelby Ritchlin, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Nancy enjoyed traveling, gardening, bird watching, and reading.

Private interment will take place at the Countryside United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd, Topeka, KS 66611.
