Olivia L. Burden, 83, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2026. She was born January 7, 1943 in Topeka, the daughter of Oliver and Margaret Ridley, Sr.
Olivia graduated from Highland Park High School. She was employed in food service by Scott Magnet School and Highland Park High School. Oliva was a devoted member of the Highland Crest Community Seventh Day Adventist Church and a dedicated mother to her four children, three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Olivia married Willie Burden. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila L. Faison, her son, Reginald L. Ridley, and her siblings, Sharon Rice, Charlotte Henderson, Armand Ridley, William Ridley, and Charles Williams.
Survivors include sons, Anthony L. Burden of Grovetown, Georgia, Edward R. Faison, Jr. of Topeka, her grandchildren, Edward T. Faison III, Josiah E. Faison IV, Asha (Adam) Branion, Rhema Branion, Royal Branion, and her siblings, Alberta Williams of Topeka, Juanita Williams of Topeka, Lenora Clark of Florida, Oliver Ridley Jr, and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2026 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Highland Crest Community Seventh Day Adventist Church, PO Box 5676, Topeka Kansas 66605-0676.
