Our beloved, Patricia (Pat) Agnes Hollomon, passed away on February 27, 2023 at her home in Lawrence, KS. She was 83.
Pat was born in Denver, CO on February 9th, 1940 to Agnes Churchey and raised by Fred Maas II. Pat spent her childhood in Golden, CO and attended Golden High School and graduated in 1958. She was voted and crowned Prom Queen her Senior year of high school.
After high school, she moved to Manhattan, KS and was married in 1959. From this marriage she had four children. Following a divorce in 1972, she was reborn into her new life with Jesus Christ as her Savior. She met Reverend Fred S. Hollomon, also recently divorced, and they married in 1975. With this marriage, she gained her next 5 children. This blended family formed what is affectionately called The Crazy Bunch.
Pat loved being a pastor's wife and serving her lord to whom she devoted her life. Pat and Fred went on mission trips to Mexico and India.
Pat was an artist and a very talented painter. She took an advanced Spanish course at The University of Kansas.
She was the Director of the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Topeka Kansas for many years until she retired.
In her later years she led many bible study groups, and her focus was to continue sharing her love of Christ.
Pat's devotion after Christ was her family. Her children were the light of her life as well as her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was proud to be called Grammy and Gigi.
Pat is survived by her children, Caylynn Singer, John Britt, Dona Howard, Suzanne Gaut (Justin), Judy Hendrick (Tom), Cathy Naylor (Bill), Becky Morrison (Ken), Bill Hollomon (Michelle) and Kristi Carter (Billy) and her brother Fred Maas III (Lisa).
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kathy Shears and her soulmate and husband for 43 years Fred.
She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She touched the lives of so many people and will truly be missed. Her beautiful sense of humor, smile, contagious laugh and giving heart will never, ever, be forgotten.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Christ Community Church, 1100 Kasold Dr., Lawrence, Kansas 66049. Private burial will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery.
