Patricia "Patti" L. Grant

Patricia “Patti” Louise Grant, 73, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 29, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Donald E. and Hilma P. (Goheen) Hickey. She was a graduate of Topeka High School and earned her LPN degree from Washburn University.

Patti was employed by various care facilities in Northeast Kansas as a Licensed Practical Nurse until retiring.

Patti married Jerry L. Matthews. To this union was born a son, Michael and adopted two daughters, Brandi and Billie. They later divorced. She married Steve A. Grant. They shared over 33 years together. He survives in Topeka. Other survivors include her son, Michael Matthews; her two daughters, Brandi Abel and Billie Woodman; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Joni Boydston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Michael Hickey.

Patti loved spending time with family and her animals, especially her horses. She enjoyed crocheting, the outdoors, time spent in a greenhouse and plants in general.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. No services planned. Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
