Patsy Gail Roth, 88, of Topeka, passed away peacefully Friday, November 1, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at Midland Care Hospice House.
Patsy was born in Batesville, Arkansas on June 10 1936 to the parents of Paul and Pauline (Presley) Massey. After the passing of her mother, she was raised by her father and step mother, Daisy Massey. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from St. Vincent School of Nursing in Little Rock Arkansas.
Patsy married Coleman (Chuck) Charles Roth on May 10, 1957. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2021. She is also preceded in death by her parents.
Patsy served as a Registered Nurse at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka Kansas after graduation from St. Vincent until choosing to stay at home to raise her family. She returned to work at Stormont Vail Hospital in 1988 until 1992 when her and Chuck both retired and moved to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. They returned to Topeka in 2016.
Patsy was a proud and devoted Air Force wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She dedicated her life to serving others. She had a great love of animals, especially dogs, and specifically dachshunds. She enjoyed walking, hiking, and many other outdoor activities. One of her favorite pastimes was watching KU Jayhawk basketball. Although she was gentle by nature, Patsy could be as competitive as anyone when it came to playing her favorite board games.
Survivors include her brother Richard Massey (Charlotte), sons Glenn Roth (Meredith), David Roth (Kathy Gipple), Ronald Roth (Michelle), grandchildren Ryan Roth (Kaitlyn), Megan Partridge (Dylan), Ashley Roth, Andrew Roth, Nicholas Roth, Emily Roth, and great grandchildren Roman Roth, Rocky Roth, and Presley Jo Partridge.
The family will receive friends and relatives at 10:00 am followed by a service to celebrate Patsy’s life at 11:00 am on Monday November 11, 2024 at Mount Hope Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka Kansas. The service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
