Quindella Gueary, 78, of Topeka went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. She was born on February 26, 1946, the eldest of six children to Rosaline B. Jackson. She attended Topeka Public Schools and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and remained faithful throughout her lifetime.
Quindella was employed in the CNA and Dietary fields before retiring.
Quindella met Henry Gueary Jr. as teenagers. They married, and to this union were born six children. Throughout the turbulent 70's and 80's, Quindella, through shear grit and determination successfully raised all of her children into adulthood. She remained a devoted wife until his passing 2002 from a long-term illness.
Throughtout her life, Quindella enjoyed crafting, family gatherings, dancing, music, singing and comedy. She often delighted at showcasing the musical and dance talents of her children during family get-together's. She met her life-long best friend and sister-in-law, Effie Mae Gueary-Perkins when she was 12 years old. She shared a special relationship with her sister, Erlene Farley, and sister-in-law, Cecilia Williams-Brooks.
Quindella was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ryland and Faye Jackson, mother, Rosaline B. Jackson, husband, Henry Gueary Jr., mother-in-law, Carrie Mae Eatmon, sister-in-law, Effie Mae Perkin, brothers, Lavelle (Gene) Jackson, Larry Dean Patton, brothers-in-law, Lester King, Eddie Perkins and Peter Brooks Sr., grandsons, Larry E. Gueary Jr. and Joshua J. R. Gueary.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Angela (Johnnie) Lowden, Henry (Mariyln) Gueary III, Larry (Anita) Gueary Sr., Tanya McKinney, Carla Gueary, Michael Gueary and bonus daughter Alice Gueary, sister, Erlene (Herald) Farley, brothers, John Kendricks Jr., Robert (Bobby), Jackson, sister-in-law, Cecilia Williams-Brooks, 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and extended relatives throughout Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Illinois.
A Celebration of Quindella's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2024 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
