Reese Kaitlynn Cartmill

Reese Kaitlynn Cartmill died November 2, 2026, in Norman, Oklahoma.

Reese was born October 21, 2003, in Topeka, Kansas, and lived most of her life in her hometown. She also spent time in Omaha, Nebraska, and Norman, Oklahoma.

Reese was known for her incredible warmth, kindness, and loyalty to her friends and loved ones. She loved spending time with her friends and her beloved cats, Frank, Nova and Moon. She was an avid reader and enjoyed journaling.

Reese was a big music fan who contracted a chronic case of “Bieber Fever” at an early age and never fully recovered. One of her favorite pastimes was sharing songs she loved with her dad and others.

Reese had a famous sweet tooth and loved candy and desserts. She particularly enjoyed the times Uncle Woody would come through town from Wisconsin and take her out for decadent sweet treats. Once the two of them had a dessert plan, there was nothing anyone could do about it.

Reese is survived by her parents, James and Ashley Cartmill; Jessica Jernigan; her brother, Gage Crossman; her grandparents, Charlie and Jennifer Brown and Jody Engel; and many other family members and friends whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sarah Cartmill, and grandfather Keith Engel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Dove Cremation and Funerals, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, Kansas, 66610. The family will receive friends Friday, November 13 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Dove Southwest. Memorial contributions may be directed to Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka and the City of Norman Animal Welfare in Norman, Oklahoma, and checks can be sent to the City of Norman Animal Welfare, 3428 Jenkins Avenue, Norman, Oklahoma, 73072.
