Rex Patty II, 73, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026. He was born November 28, 1952 in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of Clifton and Marlene (Golobay) Patty.

Rex graduated from El Dorado High School in 1970. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Rex obtained his Paramedic Certificate from KU Medical Center and was employed by private ambulance services in Topeka, serving both Stormont-Vail and St. Francis Hospitals. He earned a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing from Washburn University, a Master's Degree of Science in Nursing from Wichita State University, and an APRN License from UMKC. He served as a Nurse Practitioner in the Kansas City and Topeka areas. He later was a Clinical Instructor at Washburn Tech for their Associate Degree in Nursing Program.

Rex married Jimmy Louise Goeffert on May 26, 1979 in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include sons, Daniel (Chantelle) Patty of Arizona, Joseph ( Mequila) Patty of Topeka, four grandsons, Ja'Ryan White-Patty, Everette Fowler, Clifton Michael Patty and Josiah Patty, two great-grandchildren, Jakarri and Ja'Ryan, his mother, Marlene Patty of El Dorado, his siblings, Kim Andrews of El Dorado and Brent Patty of El Dorado, his sister-in-laws, Cindy Goeffert and Lynne Roberts both of New Orleans, Louisiana, and his nephew, Colton Goeffert of Topeka. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Rex was preceded in death by one son, Clifton Edward Patty in 1990, his father, Clifton Patty, and his siblings, Diane Patty and Mark Patty.

A Celebration of Rex's Life will be held later this summer and announced as soon as possible. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Gentiva Hospice, 5375 SW 7th St., Ste. 500, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
