Richard Earl Miller, 86, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
He was born December 31, 1937, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Earl Ward and Dorothy Pearl (Rose) Miller. He was a graduate of 1955 Topeka High School. He served in the United States Army until being honorably discharged.
Richard was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, retiring in 1998.
Richard married Nancy Jane Rowland on August 24, 1963 in Topeka, KS. She preceded him in death on March 31, 2019. Survivors include his daughter, Rachel Miller; three sons, Brian (Theresa) Miller, Toby (Michelle) Miller and Cody Miller all of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Greg) Henley, Courtney Miller, Kelsey Miller, Reegan Miller, Aubrey (Price) Kramer, Ryan Peoples and Weston Peoples; five great-grandchildren, Madyson and Colter Henley, Kyndal Peoples, Liam Peoples and Myah; his sister, Kay (Dick) Laufenberg of Bellevue, NE; and his brother, Ralph (Pam) Miller of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Rebecca Miller; his brother, Robert "Bob" Miller; and two sisters, Ann Miles and Dolores Pagel.
Richard loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
No services are planned. Private interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
