Richard Allen Morgan

Rich, age 69, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at his home in Burlingame, KS.

Born on January 30, 1956 in Lincoln, NE to Henry Carl and Esther Morgan (also honoring his loving step father Danny Pfeiff).

Rich graduated from Lincoln High School. He was also a very proud alumni of the University of Nebraska, where he met lifelong friends Larry and Sandy Lutz, who later become god parents to Rich’s children.

As a child, Rich worked hard to help bring extra money in for his mom, and spent many summers working at the local YMCA. He always made time for his shenanigans, including keeping a pet alligator in his bathtub until it got too big and had to be donated to the local zoo.

Rich was a very proud father, grandfather (Pop Pop), and great grandfather.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, step father, brother in law, and many friends including Sandy Lutz and Esta Meade. He is survived by his loving children Katrina (Connor) Guffey, Kyle (Kayla) Morgan. His sister Diane Schneider. grandchildren Emma (Hunter), Caleb, Kenzie, Christian, Liam, Cameron, and Kenley, and great granddaughter Jupiter. He is also leaving behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, and friends, most importantly Frank Meade, and Tom and Aimee Gross.

Services will be held at 1:00 Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Auburn Community Center: 121 W 11th St Auburn, KS 66402. Katrina and Kyle, along with their families, will be present starting at noon on May 25, 2025, for anyone wishing to visit before the service.

Rich was never the fancy type and hated dressing up. Please wear blue jeans, shorts, whatever you are comfortable in, and your favorite sports team shirt.

Education was always very important to Rich. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Katrina Guffey for opening accounts for all of Rich’s grandkids to save for their higher education. Please send Venmo payment to Katrina-Guffey-2 and reference memorial contribution.
