Robert Cashus Chestnut Jr., 76, of Berryton, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 in his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 18, 1949, in Sapporo, Japan, the son of Robert and Shirley (Viant) Chestnut. He graduated from Hutchison High School in 1967. He served in the United States Army National Guard as a helicopter mechanic from 1967 - 1991.

Bob was employed by the Smuckers for 26 years, until retiring.

Mr. Chestnut was a member of the Berryton United Methodist Church and the Boy Scouts of America.

Bob married Jackie Kinney on July 3, 1970 in El Dorado, KS. She survives. Other survivors include sons, Rob Chestnut (Tanya), and Ben Chestnut; daughter, Nicole Morrissey (Nathan); grandchildren, Kylie (Spencer) Balaun, Jordan Hardman, Kaitlin (Alex) Haines, Casey Chestnut, Ashley Chestnut, Haylee Chestnut, Rylee Chestnut, Madison Blanchett, Logan Chestnut, Blake Blanchett, Samantha Chestnut and Sydnee Blanchett; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Tom (Sue) Chestnut, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sally Gehlhoff.

Bob loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed keeping up with his yard, collecting tools, and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Yankees fan.

Bob’s wishes were for cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
