Robert (Bob) James Pemberton Jr., of Topeka, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, surrounded by his family at his home.

He was born November 15, 1927, in Olney, Texas, to Robert and Maybelle (Bradshaw) Pemberton. Bob served in the United States Navy following World War II. He married Joyce (Pond) Pemberton on August 14, 1948, in Farwell, Texas. Together, they made their home in Clovis, New Mexico, where they raised their three daughters.

Bob retired from the United States Postal Service in 1982. In 2014, he and Joyce moved to Topeka, Kansas.

Bob spent many hours at his woodworking bench, creating beautiful pieces for friends and family. He was also an avid gardener and found joy in sharing his harvest with others. Bob was a man of faith who trusted in the Lord and lived his life guided by Christian values.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; his daughter, Cathy (Sam) Norris; his sister, Bobbie Jean Price; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings; and his daughters, Teri Culberth and Dironda Thurlow.
