Bob's career began with the United States Coast Guard, where he served as a first class boatswain mate aboard the USCGC Mackinaw (WAGB-83), operating on the Great Lakes. After eight years in the Coast Guard, he ventured into entrepreneurship, opening a gas station in Sandusky, Ohio, where he not only provided full-service for vehicles but also enjoyed engaging with customers, always eager to lend a helping hand.

In 1967, Bob joined the United States Air Force as a mechanic, specializing in the maintenance of B52s and KC135s. His military career was marked by dedication and excellence, earning him several honors, including the Airforce Commendation Medal, Small Arms Expert, Airforce Expeditionary Medal for his time in Vietnam, and the Korean Service Medal. He retired as a Master Sergeant from McConnell Air Force Base on July 1, 1980, after 22 years of active service.

Bob's community involvement was a cornerstone of his life. He was an active member of various organizations, including the VFW, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Moose Lodge. His genuine care for others made him a beloved figure in his community. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren, relishing every moment shared and creating lasting memories.

Among his favorite pastimes, Bob found joy in simple pleasures, such as eating breakfast at Banjo's restaurant in Topeka, a spot that welcomed both familiar faces and new friends alike.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mary Roeser, as well as his wives, Donna Roeser, who passed in 2020, and Roxanne Roeser, who passed in 2015. He is survived by his children Robert II (Michelle) Roeser, Renee (Dale) Schmick, and Rayne (Michele) Roeser; his grandchildren Joshua Roeser, Kyle Schmick, Alyson Schultz, Dominique Wiggins, Kellie Schmick, Kourtney Schmick, Roman Wiggins, Raymond Wiggins, Raider Wiggins, Cason Schultz, and Calli Schultz; and his sister Mary (Toots) Dye.
