Robin Lee Burke, 42, of Topeka, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022.
She was born February 4, 1980 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of James Thomas Burke and Sandra Kay (Griffith) Burke.
Robin graduated from Topeka West High School in 1998. She furthered her education at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas.
Robin worked as a Special Education Paraprofessional for USD 501, most recently at Randolph Elementary where she was beloved by all her students and colleagues. She knew exactly how to meet each child where they were, gently and lovingly guiding them toward their full potential. Everywhere she went Robin came across someone who knew her and thought highly of her. She was a kind soul who made the day brighter regardless of what was going on around her. Robin was an avid singer, Renaissance Festival performer, and a brilliant cook. She drew joy from making delicious food with love for all to enjoy. Robin also had a love of nature and of animals, she was especially fond of cats.
Robin was a member of Fellowship Bible Church of Topeka, and as a youth was a frequent presence at Ichthus Christian Coffeehouse. She was a steadfast Christian who loved Jesus with all her heart.
Robin is survived by her brother and his wife, Chad and Raven Keith of Galveston, TX, her boyfriend/companion Daniel Kurtz of Topeka, KS, and a myriad of extended family, friends, colleagues, and students. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandmothers, Frances Burke (paternal) and Josefina Cruz Sprenks (maternal).
