Roger A. Morris, 60, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He was born July 10, 1965 in Topeka, the son of Robert L. and Edith M. (Vervynck) Morris.
Roger graduated from Hayden High School in 1983. He went to Barton County Community College on a baseball scholarship and later earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washburn University in 1989. He was previously employed by the Resource Center for Independent Living in Osage City, Kansas. Roger enjoyed sports, mostly baseball and softball and was active in coaching and refereeing youth sports. He was an avid KU Basketball fan.
Survivors include two children, Janae (Greg) Nilges of Whiting, Kansas, Brant (Karlyn) Morris of Whiting, Kansas, his siblings, Steve (Belinda) Morris of Rossville, Rick Morris of Topeka, five grandchildren, Kessley, Tate, Kashton, Kaylor and Camden, his nieces and nephews, Amanda, Jenna, Sara, Kayla, Bailey, Devin, and Jarod and his beloved dog, Emma.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Roger's Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026. Private inurnment will take place in Shawnee Center Cemetery in Wakarusa at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
