Roger E. Newman

Roger E. Newman, 73, of Berryton, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024. He was born March 18, 1950 in McLouth, Kansas, the son of Frank and Virginia (Combs) Newman.

Roger graduated from McLouth High School. He was employed as a mechanic for Kent Brown and Ed Bozarth Chevrolet for 42 years before retiring in 2016. He was an avid bowler.

Roger married Patricia L. Ball on August 20, 1970 in Atchison, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include children, Steven (Karen) Newman of Silver Lake, Robert (Amber) Newman of Gillette, Wyoming, Brianna McGonnell of Auburn, twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his mother, Virginia Jean Newman of Winchester and his ten siblings.

Roger was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Newman on September 8, 2022, his father, Frank and his son-in-law, Joseph McGonnell.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, Kansas 66506 or to Ronald McDonald House, 825 SW Buchanan St., Topeka, Kansas 66606.
