Rosalie “Kay” Guerrero, 84, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
She was born January 10, 1941, in Fort Riley, Kansas, the daughter of John C. and Lola I. (Widau) Whitaker. She was a 1959 graduate of Highland Park High School.
Kay was employed by Jostens Yearbook in Topeka for 42 years until retiring.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Kay married Samuel Guerrero on April 17, 1961 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1994. Survivors include three children, Stacy E. Guerrero, Todd Guerrero and David E. Guerrero all of Topeka; her sister, Mary Jo Swietek of Topeka; her brother, John C Whitaker of Berryton, KS; and her “adopted daughter”, Kelli Jannelle
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kay loved her family. She enjoyed sewing, scrap booking, crocheting, reading and completing puzzles.
Honoring her request, cremation is planned. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka. Private family inurnment will be at Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa, Kansas.
